Remember World Refugee Day – June 20th

I received this from the Genocide Intervention Network:

Dear Supporter,

June 20th is World Refugee Day. With millions of Sudanese people still unable to return their homes, and more than 40 million people living as refugees worldwide, we have a responsibility to make sure these people are not forgotten.

Join Genocide Intervention Network and the Save Darfur Coalition on or around June 20th to meet up with refugees, members of the Sudanese diaspora and other activists who live in your community. Come together for a meal, to share your stories, and to discuss the situation facing displaced people in Sudan and around the world.

Host a World Refugee Day event – in your home, at a house of worship or community center, or at a local coffee shop. You can find or start a meet up in your area on the World Refugee Day MeetUp page. If you’re already hosting an event, please be sure to add it to the World Refugee Day MeetUp page so others can attend.

Working together, we can make a difference.
