These are the faces of the Tower District's 2010 Mardi Gras

Our "Float"

Richard Stone, Angela Price and Richard Gomez with the FCNV "Float".

Julia Howell

I was hoping that this was a mannequin.........

You have to wonder about purple hearts on Valentine's Day.

Val helped assemble the togas... the theme was "Roman-tic".

The volunteers were GREAT and lot's of fun.

The other profile of our float.

I have to admit it....the VW bus brought back a lot of memories for me.

Well, it brought back memories for Val, too......

And for her, she's with the band Sippy and Old Guzzler.

He's with Sippy too, and he drums for the Trike Shop and will be at the Peace and Justice Festival.

I didn't even know Fresno had roller Derby......

This derby roller is from France. Had to get a pic of that hair!

Treasurer Jay Hubbell got a peace sign on his cheek.

Despite the stern look, most of the local constabulary seemed to really enjoy themselves.

This is how most of the photographers reacted to having their picture taken.

This Dad said he brings his daughter to Mardi Gras every year.

Julia Howell's hair.......

I think her Dad was in the parade. He was about 15 feet tall.

This is the Sippy and Old Guzzler float. You can see the Dad with his daughter on board.

Another shot of the Sippy float.

The Sippy folks were a bit late and slow...they we supposed to have been ahead of us in the parade but didn't make it.

But they did have fun!

Like ours, many of the floats had a message.

I expected to see more togas than I did.

Don't know the name of this group.

Them again. You can't miss Jem Bluestein in the top hat.

These are the Peace Fresno folks. In the foreground: Jean Hays, unknown, Sarah Whittington and Joseph Warkentin.

This was the lead float. They tossed a LOT of beads!!

I wonder if they tossed tacos from the Bobby Salazar's float? Nachos?

Board Member Matilde Hicks carried one end of the Peace Fresno banner. She must have been VERY hot by the end!

Avigdar Adams at the wheel. And we just watched "Animal Crackers!"

And we're off!

Technically, these people were lined up before the actual start of the parade.

The further we went, the more people were lined up

With that much boogie showing, there must have been a good song on the boom box!

I was beginning to think that they all look alike until I realized they were the same guys.
