The Challenge

Apparently I never posted the formal challenge to Community Alliance editor Mike Rhodes to produce evidence to support his claims against us, so I’m going to be doing it here. Please hang on, it will take a few days to complete. We just received a duplicate copy of one of our phone bills which is essential to building a good foundation here. I’m also going to reset the counter on our challenge to start at midnight tonight, which will be midnight, May 19, 2010.

Peace Fresno’s ad in the May 2009 Community Alliance, which we prepared, was not run in the size we had paid for. It had been substantially reduced in size. Not the first time this had happened. The published ads virtually never ran in the intended size. Not bad for a text ad, but who wants to see an ad in which Carlos Santana’s head looks as though he had been pounded flat with a mallet? So, to begin this particular segment of the odyssey, on May 6, 2009 at 10:12 AM, Val called the Community Alliance and left a message for editor Mike Rhodes that we’d like to talk to him about a problem with the ads. Mike never returned our phonecall, so one big element of our challenge is this to Mike: We are a long distance (IntraLATA) phone call, Mike, you will have records to show where you returned our phone call. (Actually, we’ve been told that your story changes on this, but here’s your chance to set the record straight.) Send me a copy of them and I’ll put them up here for all to see.

April 2011 Update: In his microcephalic attempt to have us shunned by all we know, Mike Rhodes told his friends the following in regard to ads in which the Community Alliance had shorted the customer on the adspace: “I told Val and John that I found out what had happened and that we would make sure the ad always ran its full size in the future.”  This is a LIE.  It never happened.  Since neither Val nor I have ever had any face to face discussions with Mr. Rhodes, his telling us would have to have been done by telephone or email.  We are furnishing our phone bill to prove that we called Mike and have challenged him to prove his statement that he contacted us.  It is now coming up on a year since we issued that challenge.  We know it is a lie and his continuing failure on this issue is proof that we are correct.  Tick tock, tick tock, Mike.
